Biological Safety Cabinets are available in Class I, Class II Type A2 and Class II Type B2. HEPA filters remove harmful contamination before the air is released.
Class II BSC’s is a combination of Laminar flow hood and a laboratory fume hood that Provides personnel, product, and environmental protection, Biosafety Class II is to maintain the sterility of materials inside. HEPA filtered of laminar air flow towards the work zone.
Class I biosafety cabinets provide personnel and environmental protection but no product protection. BSCs of class I are like fume hoods are either ducted or ductless.
